Red Bank, NJ (January 15, 2020)—Achieve3000, the leader in differentiated PreK-12 instruction for in-school and remote learning, today announced that it is be partnering with NABU, a nonprofit organization that was established in 2013 with a mission to solve the imbalance in the creation and distribution of children’s books globally, so all children can read and reach their full potential.
One of the keys to NABU’s success is its publishing arm. Founded in 2019, NABU Publishing champions equality by producing and distributing original children’s stories from first-voice authors and illustrators of color living in Africa and Haiti. NABU Publishing’s goal is to increase diversity and representation in children’s stories in the U.S. and to ensure all children are exposed to stories from different cultures.
Promoting Authentic Literature…Together
Like NABU, Achieve3000 is dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and awareness by including authentic voices from across the globe in its content. As part of Achieve3000 and NABU’s shared mission to unlock the potential of every child, Achieve3000 will be adding NABU-created original stories to the early reader collections in its Achieve3000 Literacy solution. This selection of engaging, culturally diverse literature includes authentic mother tongue stories from a wide range of people and places.
“I think this is a tremendous opportunity for both Achieve3000 and NABU,” said Kevin Baird, Chief Academic Officer, Achieve3000. “We will be working together to build tools which support authentic student voice and culturally relevant practices for classrooms with a growth mindset.”
“We are very excited about this partnership,” said Tanyella Evans, Executive Director and Cocreator of NABU. “We want to help the next generation of children think about the lives of their peers around the world, understand different cultures, and ultimately be advocates for a world where no child lives in poverty. Working with Achieve3000 will help us accomplish these things.”
