"We want students to become inspired—not passive—consumers of text. We want them to think about text deeply and then take action with the information they gain from those texts.” –Dr. Doug Fisher
On Day 15, Dr. Fisher focuses on the importance of empowering students to demonstrate what they learned during the close reading process, with a key emphasis on What does the text inspire you to do? Options are provided to jump-start opportunities for students, so they can take action with the information they gained from the text.

Provide students with options to demonstrate their understanding of the text by focusing on what the text inspires them to do, such as:
Consider using the Learning Log to reflect on the tasks your students chose to demonstrate their understanding of the text.
This log can be used to capture new learnings as you develop close reading techniques.
