Webinar: Building A Culture of Literacy in a Time of Unprecedented Change

Building A Culture of Literacy in a Time of Unprecedented Change

Mar. 23, 2021 • Dr. Julie Morrow with Elisar Gray (Clayton County) and Margie Lacy (Muscogee County)

To build a culture of literacy, schools must have the support of their students’ families and their communities. With our growing reliance on remote and hybrid learning, there is an opportunity to more fully involve the entire community in supporting our children, accelerating literacy growth, and seamlessly adapting to the “new normal.”

In this webinar, we’ll learn from two district leaders who share how they have successfully engaged their families and communities in supporting literacy initiatives and cultivated a greater appreciation for the importance of literacy as they’ve come to rely more heavily on remote and hybrid learning and the technology that supports them.

Participants will learn more about:

  • Motivating students through school-wide and district-wide initiatives
  • Giving educators the tools and resources they need to be successful
  • Engaging families in literacy information sessions and events
  • Building support among administrators
  • Incorporating literacy in lessons across the content areas
