National Lexile® Study

In a report based on internal Achieve3000® usage and Lexile data for a sample of 1,221,690 students in grades 2-12 during the 2016-2017 school year, researchers used MetaMetrics®’s proprietary calculation for expected yearly Lexile growth for comparing the gains of Achieve3000 users. Statistical analysis of the sample showed that students of all ages and ability levels using Achieve3000 two or more times per week over a school year are likely to triple their expected Lexile reading gains. Independent Efficacy Study

In an independent, gold-standard randomized control trial published in September 2015, the learning gains of treatment students who used Achieve3000 were statistically significant and substantively important‐based on the What Works Clearinghouse threshold of 0.25—for all areas assessed (the GMRT-4 Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, and Total Reading tests, as well as the LevelSet™ Lexile reading assessment). This study also found Achieve3000 is significantly more effective at increasing student reading gains than standard English language arts programs. As a result, the Evidence for ESSA website has found Achieve3000 to have strong evidence of efficacy for middle and high school students.
