Elementary students believe — and achieve nearly 2X expected Lexile gains.
A close look at the achievements of more than 85,000 elementary aged students in 1,200 schools showed that those who used Achieve3000's KidBiz made significant gains when compared to the gains made by students who received regular classroom instruction.
KidBiz learners nearly doubled what had been expected — exceeding their expected Lexile gains by 59 points. Even those who were two or more levels below grade and struggling at the beginning of the school year close to doubled their expected growth norms, effectively closing their literacy gap.
Elementary students with special challenges who used KidBiz also achieved significant Lexile gains, as they worked to close the literacy gap. Both English Language Learners (ELLs) and Special Education students had an impressive average Lexile gain of 134 points. This was 49 points above the average expected for ELLs, and 50 points above the average expected for Special Education students.
