LAKEWOOD, N.J. – September 22, 2015 – The Georgia State Board of Education has approved three Achieve3000 solutions for the State Recommended List for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL): KidBiz3000™ for grades 2-5, TeenBiz3000™ for grades 6-8, and Empower3000™ for grades 9-12. The Board of Education reviewed the solutions as part of the Georgia Textbook/Instructional Materials Recommendation Program. Public schools may use state and local funding to purchase any materials approved under this program.
Achieve3000 specializes in cloud-based, differentiated learning solutions for school-aged youth as well as adult learners. It has helped millions of students worldwide to improve their reading and writing skills, master increasingly rigorous academic standards, and prepare for high-stakes assessments. In addition to KidBiz3000, TeenBiz3000, and Empower3000, Achieve3000’s solutions include Smarty Ants, a foundational literacy program for grades PreK-2; eScience3000, a core science program for grades 6-8; and Spark3000, a workforce readiness and postsecondary preparation program for adult learners.
“We are very excited that Georgia is recommending our literacy solutions for English language learners,” said Saki Dodelson, CEO and founder of Achieve3000. “By meeting kids at their precise reading levels, our differentiated instruction solutions help all students accelerate their reading growth and become college and career ready. In fact, English language learners who use our solutions make more than double the expected reading gains in one school year. And, with our new solutions customized specifically for Georgia ELL students, we expect to see even greater gains this year! We’re thrilled by this opportunity to partner with Georgia school districts to help all of their students meet and exceed their literacy goals.”
Earlier this year, Achieve3000 released new solutions specifically designed for emerging, developing, and long-term English language learners. The KidBiz3000 family of literacy solutions now includes KidBizAccess™, while TeenBizAccess™ was added to the TeenBiz3000 family and EmpowerAccess™ was added to the Empower3000 family. Each of the Access solutions incorporates robust scaffolds and targeted resources to accelerate language acquisition and literacy gains across a variety of instructional models.
In addition, KidBiz3000, TeenBiz3000, and Empower3000 all feature the brand-new Achieve3000 Georgia Edition, which is available in both English and Spanish. The G.A. Edition gives students the ability to improve their literacy skills with a strategic curriculum that’s aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence and includes built-in practice for the Georgia Milestones assessments. For teachers, the G.A. Edition features robust lesson plans and point-of-use resources to support learning without adding to their workload. A real-time data dashboard called Leadership Edition is included at no cost for administrators, so they can easily monitor their Achieve3000 implementation and measure student reading gains. Finally, families of Achieve3000 students receive free access to the Home Edition, where they can view their child’s progress and access resources in 19 languages to support learning at home.
