The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier awards for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for over 30 years. The two Achieve3000 solutions were among 160 finalists across 29 education technology categories.
Winners will be announced during a virtual award ceremony on May 18. The top honor of best overall educational product will be presented at Education Industry Symposium, the nation’s leading education technology conference, in Denver on July 26. The announcement will take place during a special celebration party and dinner.
Achieve3000 specializes in cloud-based, differentiated learning solutions for school-aged youth as well as adult learners. It has helped millions of students worldwide to improve their reading and writing skills, master increasingly rigorous academic standards, and prepare for high-stakes assessments.
Achieve3000’s family of Pro literacy solutions (KidBizPro® for grades 2-5, TeenBizPro® for grades 6-8, and EmpowerPro® for grades 9-12) empowers all students to succeed in mixed-ability classrooms and extends teachers’ reach without increasing workloads or time demands. By differentiating the same grade-appropriate content at 12 reading levels in English and 7 in Spanish and providing robust scaffolds for struggling students and English language learners, Pro ensures all learners have the opportunity to work with grade-appropriate informational text. In addition, the adaptive content system continually monitors each student’s reading performance and automatically increases the level of text complexity when it detects that an individual is ready for more challenge, steadily moving students up level by level. This methodology has been proven to accelerate student learning, doubling or even tripling expected reading gains when used as little as twice a week.
Achieve3000 developed the Access family of differentiated literacy solutions (KidBizAccess® for grades 2-5, TeenBizAccess® for grades 6-8, and EmpowerAccess™ for grades 9-12) for English language learners of all proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced. Built using the same innovative approach to differentiated instruction and proprietary adaptive content system as Pro, Access features classroom-tested linguistic scaffolds and a targeted student literacy routine specifically designed to meet the unique needs of ELL students and accelerate their language acquisition and literacy gains. Every lesson also provides point-of-use teacher recommendations, targeted lessons plans, and a correlation to ELL instruction best practices so educators have instant access to the resources they need to maximize their ELL students’ learning gains.
In addition, Achieve3000 has created specially tailored editions of Pro and Access for all 50 states, with lessons aligned to each state’s language arts, science, and social studies standards. Pro and Access further provide targeted and daily practice for today’s high-stakes state assessments.
We’re excited be recognized again for offering two of the best solutions to prepare students for the rigor of tomorrow’s colleges and careers,” said Saki Dodelson, Founder and CEO of Achieve3000. “As the leading literacy solution in today’s blended learning programs, Achieve3000 provides the only patented method of online differentiated instruction that’s proven to reach all learners one-on-one, at their individual reading levels, and accelerate their literacy gains. This is the fourth year in a row that Achieve3000 has been recognized for this prestigious award, and demonstrates the power for differentiated literacy instruction to help all learners succeed in school and beyond.
“Every year the list of CODIE finalists is a case study of how the ed tech industry is using new technologies in combination with knowledge about how people learn to respond to customer needs. They’re opening doors for learners of all ages.” said Karen Billings, vice president and managing director of ETIN.
