LAKEWOOD, NJ, March 15, 2005Achieve3000, a leading educational publisher of Internet-based programs for differentiated instruction, said today it has received a "BESSIE" educational software award for TeenBiz3000, its reading and writing program for high school students.
The national Best Educational Software Awards, known as BESSIES, are given by ComputED Gazette to honor innovative and content-rich educational programs and websites. Winners are selected from titles submitted by software publishers from around the world. TeenBiz3000's award was in the high school multi-subject category.
TeenBiz3000 delivers differentiated instruction in language arts, writing and technology for students in grades 9-12. Through a proprietary software engine, TeenBiz3000 delivers differentiated instructional content in a way that allows each student to receive a grade-appropriate version of the content that is also appropriate for his or her reading level, as defined by earlier testing or screening.
"We are highly pleased to be honored by the BESSIE judges," said Saki Dodelson, chief executive officer of Achieve3000. "This award is a strong affirmation of the positive feedback we get every day from the teachers and students who use TeenBiz3000 so successfully."
This is the third consecutive year that ComputED Gazette has honored Achieve3000's programs with a software award. Last year, the company received Education Software Review Awards, or EDDIES, for TeenBiz3000 and KidBiz3000, a reading and writing program for grades 2-8. In 2003, the company also received an EDDIE for KidBiz3000.
