KidBiz3000™ and TeenBiz3000® Now Available for Haitian-Creole Students
Lakewood, NJ - September 8, 2009 - Achieve3000, the leader in differentiated literacy instruction, announced today that their online literacy programs KidBiz3000 and TeenBiz3000 are now available for Haitian-Creole students. Already available in English and Spanish, KidBiz and TeenBiz have been highly successful in increasing reading comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and writing for students in grades 2-12.
The new Haitian-Creole version came about because of strong customer demand in districts with large Haitian-Creole speaking populations. Most Haitian-Creole speakers in the United States are in southern Florida and New York City. "We are so pleased to be able to support the needs of our customers and students with the new Haitian-Creole versions of KidBiz and TeenBiz," said Saki Dodelson, CEO of Achieve3000. "This is one more step in our commitment to support students at all levels of reading and language proficiency."
Achieve3000's online literacy solutions provide daily reading and writing assignments that are automatically differentiated for each student's reading level and language. The nonfiction articles allow all students in the class to participate in discussions and assignments around the same topic while each works at the level best matched to his or her abilities. Activities and writing assignments help students develop vocabulary, reading comprehension, and higher-order thinking skills for success in the classroom and on state tests.
The Haitian-Creole version is designed to help students transition to English proficiency with academic supports and content in their native language. Teachers and administrators will be able to run reports based on students' language designation.
